Pueblo, Colorado is about to lose its 1,410 megawatt Comanche Generation Station, a coal plant owned by Xcel, to retirement by 2031. The community’s Innovative Energy Committee held a press conference earlier this month and declared that a nuclear power plant is the only way that Pueblo can be “made whole.” Critics say they’re dreaming.
