Right now, most of the American grid is coming apart. Each power market area is running into similar reliability problems in their own special way. But even though PJM is the largest power market in the country, ERCOT has already seen a catastrophic blackout, CAISO flips out every August, upper MISO looks like chaos, and ISO-New England has defaulted to burning oil in the winter, these aren’t the regions that worry me the most. New York, on the other hand, keep me up at night.
